In this digital age that we live in, I am inspired by the analogue, the art-forms that we have to touch in order to create or enjoy. I am inspired by the smell, feel and craft of old books. As a book maker, I like to think of the bookmakers of old when I stitch each page. Likewise, as a photographer, I am inspired by film and all the processes that at one time were common practice, and are now considered to be alternative processes. As an artist, I appreciate the knowledge and skill of the digital, and I long for the soon to be, and hopefully this last statement is wrong, lost arts.
