Project 3 Preliminary Critique - Aharon Williams

Post by Heyyou »

Here are my two layouts.

The first uses geometrical shapes and angles to create movement. I also used a CMYK color scheme to capture the print aspect of graphic design. The second uses a blue and red color scheme and is more image based. I didn't want to use a typical college website layout because I didn't feel they represented the creative side of their graphic communications programs. I researched the websites of designers and design groups.

**Update**

Based on the feedback I've been getting I messed around with the color scheme and came up with something different. Let me know if this works better.

Heya Aharon.

Your first design is so much stronger! The angles are excellent and create a very creative, fun space to look through. The layers you've got going on with "graphic design program" are awesome too, and make a really visually appealing header. I'm a little concerned you're going to wind up wasting a lot of space in your content container on your inner pages, so maybe watch out for that when you start transferring to HTML.

Hey you,
I like the first layout,It looks dynamic and interesting although i am sure about the scheme color, i mean i like the angles that you create and the images that you choose but the baby color makes me feel like the web page is for babies or something related to it.

Hi Aharon - I like the first concept more, and I like how you've laid it all out, but I think the color scheme needs some work. The green TMCC logo is really clashing with the blues and pinks.

although I really prefer the first design, the little image from Airplane! in the second one is pretty sweet. The first design is very eyecatching and works very well

hi Aharon:

Well i think Im liking the first layout sets more... Something about the way it is laid out and the color scheme is catching my eye more. but your 3rd version is what i imagine Tmcc would identify with the most:-)

I like the second one better , but I would have the center content area go under the navigation instead of having that white separation space.
