I really like your second design. I especially like the way you designed the menu page. It looks very clean and easy to read. I would just make the font color a little darker so it's a little easier to read. I also really like your font choices on your second design as well. If you go with your second design I would keep your backgrounds consistent too. I would use the store background on your homepage in your second design.

Hey, waitaminute ... I didn't know we could recommend "combining" designs! 
But, as Michael said, there is strength in both of these designs, and I can see where he's going with that idea. For me, who happens to be a real Truckee Bagel customer (I'll have a Chief, por favor!), I lean toward the modernity of the top design -- and I like the whimsy of the headline (Get 'em while they're hot!). Good luck on your build!
