Re: Project 1 - Preliminary Critique - Melissa Peel

Peelio, Both are good concepts. I prefer the first one because I like the centered and focus of the content along with the style of text and color background. The only thing I would say to adjust/improve is the background itself to give the viewer an idea of what's going on back there. I have to say...

Re: project one

JulianEmme, Usually i'd go for the first home page because of its atmospherics, but I think the second home page is the way to go on this one. It's subtle, but also interesting and has to do with the choice of type and image: and usually i'd say to justify your type, but for this particular design y...

Re: project 1-preliminary critique

Marco_Horta1,
I'm going withe second one as apposed to the first because it has more expression and the images are better played out. Just remember to align and justify your type.

Re: Project One Critique

susielang, The second home page has a really good layout and type styles. We've talked about including warm colors so the only thing I can add to that is too perhaps had near black or black curved boxes behind the links above so they aren't just floating there. Aside from that good stuff and don't f...

Re: Preliminary Critique

breezy,
I really enjoy your first home page. It has nice colors and repeating elements, and I really like the layout. All I can say is to justify your text and improve the difference in terms of contrast with the headline and the bubbles behind it.

Re: [Project 1] Preliminary

SerenDark, Honestly you can go with either one. They're both strong concepts and they seem to be at least 75% done with each so you're not far from the finished product. I prefer the first one. Adding some white, I think will improve the dimension of it all and the bottom half seem to be filled with...

Re: Meow (That's cat speak for "Here's my work")

darian_p,
The first design is most definitely the way to go on this one. The use of color, layout, and composition work extremely well, so there's not much to say. The very view things to improve on is to stay off the edge with the title and to justify your text.

Re: Project 1, First Critique

cheytothet, The second home page is the way to go. The first one is too clunky and the font style doesn't fir the theme, but the second one is the opposite of that (less is more). It has a such simplistic but inviting approach to it that it feels like being welcomed to a home. The colors are great a...

Re: Project 1

Pearl_Martens, The first home page is still missing too much content for the viewer to grasp the idea as a whole, so i'm leaning more towards the second one. I enjoy the theme, it's different from the rest of the home pages i've seen, so it's a good start. The content is floating so there needs to b...

Re: Project 1 - Preliminary

erika.murray,
Both designs are strong in terms of color combination and layout. The only thing i can say to improve on is to align and justify your type.
