Re: Prelim Project 2
Both designs are absolutely gorgeous! I adore the grayscale + color concept and the way you've arranged your layouts. Layout 2 feels more social and inviting. The only thing I would say is to maybe enlarge the size of your text, or for the additional page maybe lower the opacity of the background im...

Re: Preliminary Critique #2
Version 1, the blue one, feels so much cleaner and more inviting. It's organized well and comes across clearly. But it doesn't really pop. What if you tried using other colors as accents?

Re: Project Two Prelim
Version 2 has so much more personality and is so inviting! The text on the image on the home page is impossible to read, though.

Re: Project 2 rough
I'm torn. The "second page" feels cleaner, but the other one ("home page") is so much more expressive and representative of the subject matter. I would say to work with the "home page" design. What if you try narrowing the nav bar, moving it up, increasing the size of t...

Re: Project two Layout Roughs
These are both looking great. Site 1 feels more inviting and accessible. The body copy text doesn't quite feel right; it's not utilizing the space that it's in, well, I think. It feels cluttered and hard to read, but only subtly so? It's intersting. Maybe try to reduce the amount of type and break i...

Re: Project 2 preliminary designs
These are fantastic! The second one feels stronger. I would say to either remove the bar in the center on this page http://www.grc175.com/forum/download/file.php?id=2004&mode=view or add a similar bar in the center of the other page? It feels out of place currently but doesn't look bad, per say....

Re: Project 2
I feel like Ironwood 2 has much stronger personality and is more interesting to look at. However, the images on the side are fairly small and it's really hard to read all of the text on the page. The header up top might be better white, and the nav buttons might be better if they were a lighter pink...

Re: project_2_roughs
Design_2a is the better one! I love how sleek and clear, to-the-point it is. The subject matter comes across really strongly. The only thing I think is weak is the center-aligned text on the bottom. Try aligning it to the left, or breaking the type up into 2-3 chunks that you can space out?

Re: Preliminary Critique
Both are great but I do like your first one more. The large navigation bar and the layout with the images covered in text really help to give the site a strong personality, I feel. The only really glaring thing I see is that there's contrast issues between the text on the images and the images thems...

Re: Project 2-Preliminary
I like the dark version more, but both are pretty strong. Some things in the dark version are rather close (the word "Characters" with the bar up top, or the paragraphs of body copy coming near to the images of the characters) and I would recommend some adjusting to help remove this tensio...
