Re: Project 2 prelim
It's funny to me that an author that big has a website that bad. And yet... I like your first design best. It's slightly more colorful and feels warmer and more welcoming. It has better margins too. It feels like a book cover to me. Which is very meta considering your stack off books logo. I like th...

Re: Proj 03 Prelim
There's not a ton of differences between these two, but what differences there are point me towards the second one. I like the way the quote works around the photo rather than being set on top of it in a text box. And what a photo it is! The statue is so dramatic. I feel like he's staring down right...

Re: project03 prelime
Awwww! I would have liked to have seen inner pages on these. :( I like your purple one the best. It seems less chaotic than your other one. I see what you were going for here. You've set up your design with clear organization to make things easier to find. The section columns go a long wat toward do...

Re: Project 3 Preliminary
Awww! I would have liked to have seen some inner pages with this one. Oh well. That being said, these are not as bad as you think, Aub. The first one is quite a nice, clean design. I like your thinking there. It's a very clean design; reminiscent of a set of bookshelves, which seems thematically app...

Re: Preliminary Critique Project 3
I almost had a panic attack because Ben Anderson had also done this webpage, and I almost thought the assignment was to redo the Yale School of Art site, which I did not do... I had to double check the assignment haha. Needless to say, your concepts are really good and definitely better than the or...

Re: Preliminary Critique Project 3
Aw. I would have liked to have seen an inner page for each design. :( That being said, these are two quite good designs. I like that your brain took one look at that horrendous Yale page and went, "This is a mess! Let's take all that mess and just slap it on a hall bulletin board." And it ...

Re: project 3 preliminary
I like your first design the best, Eleanor. It prioritizes imagery in it's content. When you prioritize imagery like this design does, you cn really chop back on the text since the imagery does so much of the talking. You'll wind up using just a few b its of punchy text here and there to inform the ...

Re: project 03 preliminary
I think I like the second one better. I think it's that big relaxing sine wave on your home page. I definitely see where you're going with this one. I like the yellow and magenta sine wave kind of leads the eye through the home page composition. Even the multiple sine waves on the home page guide th...

Re: project 1 final
Hm. A fascinating idea, Damiano. You're exploring an interesting direction here. I'm really intrigued by the hard edges around your content here. It works surprisingly well to draw the eye and announce that there is important content here, but they are thin enough to be elegant. The split tint again...

Re: Project One Final
Oh yeah! That topographic map background pattern is still paying dividends, Noah. I love the way your background and logo interact. They really are birds of a feather. This is such a simple clean layout that easily conveys it's information and is made visually interesting by perfect image selection ...
