Re: Project 1, preliminary critique

I prefer the minimalistic design. The minimalistic design with the class look of the seriffed font used for everything but the menu on the side creates a modern yet classic feel. The photographic design is basic and does not hold my attention. Definitely, I would go with the minimalistic design. As ...

Re: Prliminary Critique Project 1

Your first choice has a more modern look. Of the two, I definitely prefer this one though your second design utilizes space nicely and has a nice texture. I'm not sure what you intend to do with the negative space in the upper right corner of design one.

Re: Project 1, Preliminary Critique

Thank you for those informative links. I'll definitely look back to those for inspiration. I, too, enjoyed the poem you've included as your body copy. I like the use of serif fonts but I would watch the use of italics. I'm not sure if that's just how the typeface is or if it's the font. The seriffed...

Re: Project 1, First Preliminary Critique

Initially, I preferred the layout with the dark background. The more I thought about the name, though, with a name like 'switch on,' the layout with the white background works better. I also prefer the alignment of icons and text and images on design1 (the one with the light background).

Re: Project1

Both of these work well for me. When I first looked at the palm tree layout I wanted the squares to be the same size, but it creates visual interest. Both are great but lack the required paragraph about yourself.

Re: Project One, First Prelimary Critique

Are you a sailor, David? The layout of you (I think that's you) on the water is professional. When I look at it I think of business and success. It reminds me of Oracle because of their sailing team and their success. I think I understand what you're trying to do in the other layout but it doesn't q...

Re: Preliminary Critique_Project1_KO

Both layouts have a professional look to them. You could mess around with the alignment of the text in the left portion of the first layout. Also in the first layout, the weight of the body copy could be heavier. The picture you use in the first layout works nicely with your color scheme. The second...

Re: Project 1, First Preliminary Critique

The layout where cartoon you is hollering works well. The dark and light purpley triangle shapes bring the eye back to the page after seeing the character hollering. The second layout has a child-ish look to it which is ok if that's the look you want to create. Also on the 2nd layout, I might try al...

project1 preliminary critique

rough2_ng.jpg http://www.ge.com/ The GE site inspired rough2. The squares at the top of the website and the navigation layout inspired some thumbnails. Then I looked back at some previous projects for images I could use and found the logos created in 107. rough3v2_ng.jpg http://store.hifructose.com...

It's me. I'm Ryan. This class makes me anxious because the web project in 119 were difficult.
