I really like the old album design, it would also look cool if you did a dark background to really push the contrast since the pictures have such light colors. Just a thought~

I am pretty sure 1025x768 is a standard size but some people choose to make it a little smaller to ensure good viewing on smaller monitors. Of course for this project that doesn't matter too much.
