It's very well organized and the simple color pallet makes it easier to read the text. But the text might need to go up a few points because it's hard to read. I like the mountain imagery but it might need more opacity because it brings more life to the site and shrink down the face to half because ...

Both are nice designs, but i like the second brighter design better because it portrays the biography more towards her verses the books she has created. It also portrays more of a fluent personality verses the first design that has more of a solid rocky structure with the fonts you've used.

I like the how you added a more broad range to the website verses it's original narrow view.
The added range of colors has great contrast that draws your eyes to the center pages.

The grey scale and organization are both very well. The separation of the illustration and the body text are well made with the difference in the contrasting colors and i like your quote in your illustration. The Red text also pops out well pulling the viewers to read your text box.

Firstly, fantastic organization and great installations within the welly placed areas.
